Induction at Singapore -4

Last night(19th Dec) Mr. Murty(Pune office manager,went with me) invited Juliana and Rosalin for breakfast at 7:30 am.But as we slept very late,none of us wake up and they were waiting for us.I woke up
first and woke other people.Ritesh(New joinee as me) and I went to take care of Juliana and Rosalin.Then me and Ritesh started our breakfast.I took the all the stuff to eat, in which I will not make noises while eating.After some Mr. Murty with D Mitra(pet name DJ,one more new joinee) came and joined us.He is not having words what to say to them as we followed Indian Standard time.This is all about 8:30 am.We are suppose to reach office by 9 am.At that time Mr. Arvind enters with his wife and having one brand new samsung handy cam in his hand which was fully loaded with infrared support(do not ask me why I stressed more on this).We finally managed to leave from there by 8:50.Me,Juliana ,Ritesh and Arvind had to come in same taxi but Arvind was taking some time;So Juliana told us leave him and go to office.

So, by some 9:05 am we were at office.We all and other people went to the training room for the day.Mr. Keith wished me hello and take off the chair for to sit.It will be one of my unforgettable for life.I felt really great.After that Juliana gave some information about New Hire Club.And the Mr Delon took over for some of his presentation for Desktop uses.It was a bit bore.As that finished we went to a place near by where different kind of foods are available.As advised by Mr. Leon (Manager GSS Chaina) I took something called "meat popiya" ,then I had chicken rice. Then I one plate ice cream with people from Singapore office and Japan office.After having lunch we again went to office.We do not have much to do in office.In the first time in my life I smoked a cigarette with a girl(lady from Japan office).We then waited for Mr. Murty to finish his meetings and after that we left to hotel.

We stayed at hotel for some time and then we went ti Sim Lim Square to do window shopping for
Electronic items.We was there for some 2 hours and visited almost every shop. Then we all went to Mustafa, a very good shopping mall which opens 24 hours and very famous for cheap rates.There are so many things that I got confused what to buy.Finally I bought some T-shirts on which Singapore was written.Other colleagues also bought some or the other stuff and finally we returned to hotel around 1 am.

We got up at around 7am next day 19dec,As soon as we were ready we went to have breakfast. Now as entered the dining room there were so varity to eat.I was confused , what to take. I do not know what to take.As I came back to my table where my other colleages were sitting. I started to take byte to every thing in my plate and one of the taste was really bad.And you know what was it. It was " A boiled Ham (Suar)". belive me it taste very bad.Afster that I had two glassses of apple juice.Then we took a taxi for our office 110,HB Building, Robinsion Road It took some 10 mins to reach to the office.Taxi driver dropped us in front of our office but we were not able to identify the building.So we roamed for some time and finally we got it. Our office was at 9th floor.We just went into the elevator and pressed 9.It only took 10 secs to reach there.We all said in common vocal "Itni jaldi".

So we were ready to enter the office.The first person whom I saw in the office was Mr. Keith Miller,our APAC GSS Manager. He was also there for new hire orientation.He must me in his late 50's. We saw our training room and went around the office.Office was not big but I can see more goodies around. One by one people coming into the office from different countries.I was just waking around and going there and there in office.I said hello to and shake hands with different people.one of the was Mr Leon, GSS Chaina manager and some sales guys and girls from Australia and Japan. All of us went to the training room but
I did not find any place to sit.So, I just took a chair and about to put it at last, But Rosalin (our APAC HR) pointed out a space at front beside Keith.I was feeling very unusual as was sitting in front and beside Mr. Keith.

We got the schedule for the day and for tomorrow also.Then the training begins.One by one people and talked about Red Hat. I was feeling very lucky to sitting in that room.We had lunch and some other to interact with poeple.We all had dinner at 6:30 pm at Coffee House in Phennix Hotel in orchid Raod.Again some how I got the chance to sit beside Mr. Keith and interacted with him.We had a very nice dinner.He told me about his previous jobs,his experince.He is really a gentle man.He told me about his experiences in different companies.After the dinner Juliana told us the places to visit.

So after the dinner we went to roam around Orchid Road. As X-mas was near, the lighting on the road was very nice. There are some Christmas trees also which were fully loaded with lighting.We went through one side till the end.In between there are so many nice girls.We took some snaps also.At the end of road we bought some beer and crossed the road. After going some 100 meters ahead we saw an electronic shop and we entered to take a look as I have to buy a digi cam.We saw one girl with very tight clothes and thought may be she is a pimp.I ignored her and went into the shop and I asked the prices of cameras.As I came back from the shop one of other colleague said she went with a man in 150 Sing dollars.We again went ahead to till the end of road with beer in one hand.We saw a Yellow Ferrari, It was just great.We took some snaps also.We need to wait for the taxi for some time and went to hotel.So, this was our second day out there.

As we are about to land to singapore I can see a very beatiful port with lot of ships.It was like a film scene.I can see very beautiful buildings.It was very clean around the airport,as compare to our Mumbai airport.I can see planes from different countries and was trying to relate airline name from country name.And finally we landed.There are so manypeople coming out from the plane.It was like people coming out from a local bus.It was total five and half hour flight.Singgapore time is 2 and 1/2 hour ahead of us.We landed about 7:15 according to their timings.

As I get out from the plane I can see the very big and beautiful Singapore airport.As I went further I can see horizontal steps(elevator), due to habit conventional upward steps I was amazed.Every where there were people of different color,size and shapes.Then we filled the immigration form and went further to taxi stand.As we booked for a package one twelve seated taxi came and pick us.There were some other people who shared the taxi with us.
As we were passed one overbridge a sudden sound came from above and every one of us were scared.We all saw up and do you know what it? It was a aeroplane going on that overbridge.All the roads were so clean and buildings are so high that is hard to imagine.We took some snaps on the way and after a drive of around 20 mins we reached our hotel "Swissotel Merchant Court" situated at Clark Quake about 8:45 pm.My room No. was 624.We then quickly had bath and went for the dinner.We went to one restaurent near by all some "* Indonasian*"( * wild card :) We had fried rice,one fish and one chicken item and lot of water as water cost 6 singapore dollor per bottle(1 singapore dollor = arond 27 Indian rupees).After having dinner we quickly went for sleep as we have to go office tomorrow.

Induction at Singapore - 1

Thanks to Red Hat.I went from my induction to Singapore.We started on Sunday 18 Dec after enjoying company trip last day at panshet, beautiful place 45 minutes bike journey from pune.I'll put some of the of this trip also.

After coming from the trip at midnight, I have to get ready for S'pore by 4 A.M.I packed my bags and then had a sleep for 2 hours.Finally we left by 5 in the morning.I was not feeling well becoz of lot of masti,dance and drinks and less sleep.
As I just got down from in Mumbai for breakfast at 7, what else do you expect.I vomited , YACC!!!!

Our flight was at 11:30.We reached to airport by 8:20. It was my first time and I do not know what to do.Thanks to the guys who were with me.I called my home from airport and every body was so happy.I checked in my luggage and got my boarding pass.we need to wait for more than an hour for our flight.In the meanwhile we had coffee for Rs 20 each and that really sucks.Finally we got the call to go our flight.I was eagerly waiting to see Air Hostess of Singapore Airlines.

As I got into my seat I was thanking God for giving me this chance.I never thought that I will go out of country this year.
In front of the seat I had a small screen and in one of my side has the reomte of that.They showed some safety instruction.
on that screen.Then the flight was ready to take off and you can all the slums around.I then look around and saw beautiful air hostesses.I ordered an apple juice and then started "Transpoter-2" movie.After some time i ordered the "Singapore Sling (Cocktail)". It is really a fun to have cocktail in one of your hand and enjoying the movie above the Earth(Do not ask me how many meters).After some time I had a nice lunch with another glass of cocktail.After five and half hour of flight we were about to land.

Red Hat

So ,
Finally I joined Red Hat last month.It was like dream come true.
I do not have words to express my self.In a months time I learned a lot,
got new mentor, new freinds.At Red Hat It feels great.Work is like fun here.

The very first day I joined , I felt at top of the world, a bit nervous.
So, many things coming in my mind.
Will I be able to do my work efficiently?
Will I be able to make co-ordination with all the team members?

I saw the shadow man big picture ( Red Hat logo ) and got know how it got its name.
My friends were so happy about me that I joined Red Hat. It really feels great when you
hear from friends.
